The only obstacle to a real peace is Israel itself

Let’s not twist the words, but be frank for one time only. It is the very idea of the Israeli existence that a real peace with Arabs means an end to its expansionist policy. Without going back to the roots of the conflict, which has been debated for decades without any success, but weakened the Palestinian cause, what’s been happening in Gazza Strip since last Saturday is tantamount to genocide.

What the European powers did to the Jews in the Second World War has been applied to the Palestinians by Israel with permission given by the western powers, as if their genocidal and criminal act on Jews has been cleaned up or their apologetic stance towards children of the holocaust victims needs Palestinians’ blood.

It is not surprising that the USA and EU leaders have condemned HAMAS for what Israel has been doing in Gazza Strip for the last six days, commiting genocide, mass murder, you name. The Palestinians death toll, still rising, will not weaken their huge and disproportionate support for Israel. An Israeli’s death matters far more than mass killings of Palestinians for George Bush, Gordon Brown or Nicolos Sarkozy. As Seumas Milne rightly argued on Al Jazeera TV channel, if the killed had been Israelis and the attacker Palestinians, there would have been a gigantic condemnation and assault by both Israel and western countries on Palestinians.

As I argue above a real peace will never take place in the near future, given the fact that a real peace means an end to the Israeli occupation of West Bank, Gazza Strip and Golan heights, return of more than 4 millions Palestinians refugees to their land. What we have seen on the Israeli side so far is to shed blood in order to keep their Zionist ideology alive. The fear that the Israeli leadership has in mind is if they stop occupying or shedding blood, then the cause of Zionism will never be fulfilled.

So long as Israel acts according to the tenets of Zionism, then there will never be a peace, but all talk. So it is Israel itself, which applies a Zionist agenda, the biggest and only obstacle to a real peace.

Expecting a divinely inspired Israel to abide by the international law is against very idea of Zionism, even if it costs its eventual destruction. Hence, all efforts for a so called peace process is nothing other than a strategy of how the Palestinian cause can be undermined.
